A bailiff gets control 2

Days later, at 7 am on Thursday morning Peter was leaving for work.
A 22 stone 6ft 4" bailiff with a shaven head called Mr Green knocked at his door.

As Peter opened the door, Green put his foot on the threshold to stop the door closing, and leaning against the doorframe, thumbed the papers.
Mr Green announced in a commanding tone:
“I am a Court Bailiff. I am executing a Magistrates Warrant for £321.60
plus enforcement fees of £250, that makes £571.60.
I can take debit, credit, or cash, how do you want to pay?”

Peter explained that he’d already told the council he couldn’t pay it all at once, but he could pay in installments, and what was the extra £250 for?

By now Peters wife and children were in the hallway of their small terraced house listening to the developing drama. And they were frightened.

Green became visibly annoyed, and announced loudly enough for the neighbours to hear,
“Either you pay me now, or I’ll be back with a van and empty the house, and I’ll take that van outside!”
Peter started to argue, but Green put his nose to Peters face and yelled,
“Listen, do you want me to call the Police and have you arrested for obstructing a magistrates bailiff and refusing to pay a Court Fine?"
"The Court will jail you for three months if you don’t pay me now!"
"DO YOU WANT TO GO TO PRISON?”
