Family 1, Bailiffs 0

Two weeks later Kevin called his family together, and began to explain what he had in mind.
“We owe the council some money.  Now, I’m going to pay it off, but these people called bailiffs will try to get in and take our stuff”.

The children were horrified! Sadie said “that can’t be right, this is our house”, Chelsea said, “there’s no way they’re getting in here!”, and Callum (the youngest) declared, “I’ll batter them”.
Kevin continued,
“For as long as it takes to deal with these people and get rid of them, we have to keep the blinds closed so that no-one can peek in, and we mustn’t open the door to anyone unless we know them, Ok?.
Before we go out we need to check there are no people we don’t know lurking about, and if there is, we’ll wait till they’ve gone”.

The children started to shout that they wouldn’t use the front door again!
Kevin smiled, “No, if anyone calls at the house and we don’t know them, we’ll just pretend they aren’t there; don’t worry because they can’t do anything except bang on the door, and if they’ve got anything important to say they can put it in a letter, can’t they”.
Just make sure you don't leave any windows or doors open, in case a bailiff or burglar tries to sneak or climb through.

Everyone agreed, and the family pact was made.
